An unprecedented journey though ancient PompeiiCovering more than 3.000 m2 and spanning a height of almost 8m, The Last Days of Pompeii: The Immersive Exhibition transports visitors into the heart of the Roman city to witness one of history’s most dramatic moments – the sudden and violent eruption of Mount Vesuvius which buried the city of Pompeii under lava. This immersive exhibition brings Pompeii back to life, allowing visitors to experience its energy, culture and tragic fate.
Combining archaeological knowledge with the creative power of storytelling and cutting-edge technology, the exhibition takes visitors on an immersive journey through Pompeii The stunning 360-degree mapping room with a total surface of 1.200 m2 of surrounding visuals allows visitors to walk the streets, witness the daily lives of Pompeii’s citizens and experience the final moments right before and after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The exhibition also presents a selection of original ancient artefacts and replicas, including sculptures, glassware, household objects and medical equipment that all paint a vivid picture of life in ancient Roman times. Featuring scenic built themed reconstructions, a peristyle garden, an amphitheatre to cater for groups, private events and wonderfully curated historical story telling.
The Exhibition pushes the boundaries of digital immersion with two groundbreaking experiences never before combined in Europe, a Virtual Reality journey and an interactive Metaverse. Together they offer an unprecedented way to engage with the past, blending history with the most advanced technology available today. Guests will experience a ride into the coliseum and witness up close a gladiator fight, a nautical battle before stepping into a fully interactive metaverse to explore the legendary Villa of the Mysteries as if walking through Pompeii itself. Finally, an AI photobooth installation will allow visitors to take their own portrait as a Roman citizen back in the day and in the Graffiti station kids can leave their tags, phrase or artwork and add a lasting proof of their passion on these ‘Roman murals’.
The complete experience is enhanced by a specially commissioned original score, recorded with the Audiocult Orchestra and Choir. This powerful soundtrack, together with the full multilingual offer (English, French, Flemish, German), creates a deeply emotional and inclusive journey for all audiences.
All experiences are included in the ticket price and there is no upsell.
